Brands, retailers, and manufacturers need ways to verify and validate sustainable product claims and positively differentiate and promote their products.
Our goal at Eurofins is to support our customers in making these claims, so we have developed the Green Product Assurance Certification Scheme (GPA).
What is Green Product Assurance?
The critical elements of the GPA are a testing regime coupled with an audit of the manufacturing site.
The testing uses our advanced SCCT SL600 (screened chemical testing process) to test for a wide range of potentially hazardous chemicals is one economical screen. This test provides screening against REACH, California Proposition 65, AFIRM RSL and other US state requirements.
The audit assesses; compliance review on purchased materials, internal management processes, RSL communication to suppliers, testing regime on the finished product, material change protocols and traceability and record keeping.
Benefits of Green Product Assurance
Successful candidates can promote their products to customers or consumers using the GPA product assurance certificate. A QR code is also generated that is linked to an online platform where claims can be verified.
Certification
The manufacturer receives confirming their involvement in the program. They can then use this certificate on presentations and brochures for promotional purposes.
GPA mark
The GPA mark can be used on products as a swing tag or label, on packaging, and alongside specific promotional material.
