Achieve compliance with new ZDHC standards with commodity chemical testing

Join our upcoming webinar to discover how you can confidently manage your chemical footprint and ensure full MRSL compliance with commodity chemical testing. This session will provide valuable insights into how to meet ZDHC standards and how to address the challenges of commodity chemical testing while ensuring MRSL compliance across your operations.

Since its inception in 2011, the ZDHC community has been at the forefront of driving positive changes in the industry. With a strong commitment to promoting safer, more sustainable chemistry, they have significantly impacted the entire value chain. ZDHC standards have played a crucial role in improving the profile of functional chemicals used in the production of apparel and footwear, with the goal of ensuring a more sustainable and responsible future for the industry.

In 2024, ZDHC released their first guideline on the use of commodity chemicals in the processing of textile, leather, apparel, and footwear. Commodity chemicals, which are the basic chemicals used in processing to create a specific condition or aid a process, such as acids and bases, are essential in production. While these chemicals don’t typically end up in the final product, they often contain high levels of impurities that may be hazardous and are listed on the ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substance List (MRSL). This guideline is a significant step in advancing MRSL compliance and creating a more planet-conscious industry by addressing the risks associated with commodity chemicals.

Ensuring MRSL compliance with commodity chemicals is a challenge many companies face, particularly since these chemicals can sometimes damage the sensitive instruments used to detect MRSL substances. To help businesses overcome this challenge, Eurofins Sustainability Services has developed an innovative testing method that allows for effective commodity chemical testing. This method is designed to assess hazardous substances in your commodity chemicals and help you better manage MRSL risks, ensuring full MRSL compliance and helping your business adhere to ZDHC standards.

This webinar originally aired on 13 March 2025.
