Using TOF to understand PFAS contamination in your textile supply chain
Available on-demand | Watch now
Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances’ (PFAS) industrial and commercial use began as early as the 1940’s, however, the discovery of their harmful properties in humans and our planet’s ecosystems has led to global legislation which includes restriction of certain individual substances and/or controlling their presence in consumer products and their supply chains. The impact of PFAS is notably profound in sectors such as apparel and footwear, where compliance with evolving legislation is crucial.
In response to the challenge of identifying PFAS compounds, a complex group of over 10,000 chemicals, recent advancements have shifted focus towards Total Fluorine (TF) and Total Organic Fluorine (TOF) testing. These innovative approaches can be used as an indicator of total PFAS contamination within a sample, marking a significant step forward in detection technology.
Eurofins is at the forefront of this transformative approach, offering insights into PFAS management through validated, cost-effective TOF testing methods. This webinar will illuminate the critical importance of PFAS compliance and offer strategies including TOF detection for a deeper understanding of PFAS contamination within your supply chain.
